We understand that many in the current climate may have some questions relating to the latest developments of the COVID 19 pandemic and how these affect ESMAC 2020. Please review our FAQs below which will continue to be updated as we receive any additional questions:

GENERAL

  • Why was ESMAC 2020 postponed? 

 ESMAC 2020 was postponed directly due to the risks associated with the COVID 19 pandemic. The safety of all of our participants will always be the first priority of Meeting Organizing Committee. This is not an easy decision and was made following regular updates and information received from the World Health Organisation, Local Health Ministries and Government advisory authorities, along with feedback from members of our ESMAC community. 

  • Can I get a refund if I cancel my registration due to the postponed event dates?

All existing registrations for ESMAC 2020 remain valid for the new dates. No action or update to your registration is required. In the event you can’t attend the new dates, cancellations are only available for those received in writing to registration@esmac2020.org by 30 June 2020. No refunds will apply after this time outside of the normal event cancelation terms and conditions. Please also note an administration fee of 20 EUR applies to all registration cancellations and kindly note that the process for refunds may take up to 3 months depending on the current situation.

  • Will there be any live streaming or virtual meeting options for ESMAC 2020? 

Yes, ESMAC 2020 is going fully virtual.

DELEGATES

  • I have an existing ESMAC 2020 registration, do I need to do anything for the new ESMAC 2021 dates? 

All existing registrations for ESMAC 2020 remain valid for the new dates. No action or update to your registration is required.

  • What happens if I have an existing registration and can’t attend the new ESMAC 2021 dates?

All efforts are being made to make the new ESMAC dates a success. In the event you can’t attend the new dates cancellations are only available for those received in writing to registration@esmac2020.org by 30 June 2020. No refunds will apply after this time outside of the normal event cancelation terms and conditions. Please also note an administration fee of 20 EUR applies to all registration cancellations and kindly note that the process for refunds may take up to 3 months depending on the current situation.

  • I had cancelled my registration for the original dates but can now attend the new ESMAC 2021 dates. Can I reinstate my old registration? 

Please complete a new registration. The link will be available soon.

  • Can I transfer my registration to someone else? If so how should this be done? 

ESMAC 2021 are accepting a registration name transfer up to 31 August 2021. Please contact the ESMAC Registration Secretariat on registration@esmac2020.org

  • Will participants who have purchased flights or a hotel, receive a refund for these services?

We strongly advise all participants with flight or hotel reservations to contact either their travel agent or the indiviudal organisations directly to review options. The situation relating to COVID 19 is changing all the time but in certain situations refunds or credit can apply. The organizers of ESMACcannot be held liable by participants for any damages, costs, or losses incurred, such as transportation and accommodation costs, financial losses, or any other miscellaneous expenses.

SPEAKERS, INVITED GUESTS, PROGRAM & ESMAC SCHOLARSHIPS:

  • Can I submit abstract(s) for the ESMAC 2020 Virtual Meeting?

Yes, the program of the ESMAC 2020 Virtual Meeting will include both oral and poster presentations selected from submitted abstracts. Please, read the guidelines before submitting.

  • What happens to the abstract(s) I originally submitted for the now postponed ESMAC 2020 Meeting?

All submitted abstracts will be automatically considered for the ESMAC 2020 Virtual Meeting. A new submission for ESMAC 2021 Meeting will be open later this year. In case you would like to withdraw your abstract from the ESAMC 2020 Virtual Meeting, please contact the Meeting Secretariat
